Unless you have been living under a rock this past month, you will know that Amazon shut down its almost five-year-old Amazon giveaway service last week.
Amazon Giveaways isn't the first, and won't be the last, service to be “retired.” Remember Amazon Spark? As Jeff Bezos famously remarked, Amazon is a company of “billions of dollars of failures.”
Launched in 2015, the Giveaway program was designed to help sellers raise awareness of their products by allowing them to offer products as freebies to lucky winners, often in exchange for watching a short video about the product.
So it will come as no surprise that many sellers used the Amazon Giveaways program to launch new products.
But given that incentivized reviews are a big no-no, and Giveaways have been put to pasture, how else can sellers launch new products?
